BEST’s Mobile Training Center (MTC) stands out as the sole traveling solder training classroom across the United States. Accommodating up to 10 students, our MTC is fully equipped with essential resources, including stereo microscopes, ESD protection, and high-quality professional hand tools. Tailoring to your needs, we provide all IPC or BEST courses within our Mobile Training Center, ready to be conducted at a location of your preference upon request.
Our Mobile Training Center (MTC) offers each student:

• LCD screen for magnified instructor demonstrations

Matthew Reed, a Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) with an extensive track record spanning over two decades in the electronics industry, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his professional journey. His career began during college as an electrical/electronic technician, laying the foundation for a trajectory marked by continuous growth and accomplishment.
Matthew's early professional roles involved servicing and repairing portable devices for a prominent telecom company, followed by valuable contributions to the manufacturing and installation of data and power wiring. Drawing from diverse experiences with various corporations, he embarked on a path to become an IPC certified instructor, signifying his commitment to excellence in industry standards.
Since 2005, Matthew has been an integral part of D.R. Reed Consulting, where he has continued to advance his career as a traveling instructor. His role involves imparting knowledge and expertise to professionals across different locations, contributing to the skill development and proficiency enhancement of individuals within the industry.

Special Guest Lecturer: Phil Zarrow
Phil Zarrow boasts over 45 years of involvement in PCB fabrication and assembly, showcasing expertise in equipment manufacturing for through-hole and surface mount technologies. His career spans key roles in companies like Vitronics Corporation, Excellon-Micronetics, and Universal Instruments Corporation, offering global hands-on experience in setup and troubleshooting of assembly processes.
Since founding ITM in 1992, Zarrow has assisted clients across diverse areas, including SMT implementation, process failure analysis, quality audits, yield improvement, and equipment evaluation. A sought-after speaker and instructor, he's chaired and instructed at various seminars worldwide, published technical papers, co-authored industry books, and holds patents in PCB fabrication and audit methodologies.
Actively involved in professional associations like IPC and SMTA, Zarrow has received accolades for his contributions to the industry, including awards from SMTA and recognition for his writings in industry publications. Presently, he produces and co-hosts Circuit Insight’s “BoardTalk” audio program. Phil hosts the SMT Bootcamp Class with BEST available in Illinois, Michigan and Online.
