IPC J-STD-001H

IPC-J-STD-001H  is a must have standard for those involved in printed circuit assembly. The latest version , version "H" was approved and released to the industry in the fall of 2020.

There are some notabie changes and upgrades to the IPC-J-STD-001 standard including to but not limited to the following

Section D which provides for guidance on the use of x-ray for plated throughhole acceptance

New crtieria for wrapped terminals

Section 8 which is the new cleaning and reside requirements section. This section defines a new residue measuring standard for determining the cleanliness of a PCBA. The older ROSE-Resistivity of Solvent Extract is no longer an acceptable basis for qualifying a manufacturing process. I stead cleanliness from absolute ionic cleanliness measurements or results from an SIT reliability test are the new "norms" spelled out in the revised J-STD-001H standard.
