IPC J-STD-001 TRAINING FOR SPACE HARDWARE SPECIALIST | IPC J STD TRAINING
What’s in the IPC J-STD-001 Space CIS class?
This class instruction covers the additional requirements over those published in latest revision of the IPC J-STD-001 and are part of the J-STD-001 CIT program. These hardware requirements outline those that are additional for space applications. These requirements are published in the space addendum to the IPC-J-STD-001 in order to ensure the reliability of soldered electrical and electronic assemblies. These assemblies are designed to survive the vibration and thermal cyclic environments getting to and operating in space.
This optional module to the J-STD-001 Trainer Training Program is not published as part of the regular J-STD-001 course materials. There are no soldering workmanship instruction or testing requirements for this module.
Study of the Space Hardware addendum which provides additional requirements over those issued in J-STD for those products that must survive the vibration and thermal cyclic environments of getting to and operating in space. The J-STD-001 space addendum is NOT a stand alone certification. It must be taught in conjunction with the J-STD-001 CIT certification and be supported with a at least a score of 80% or better must be achieved for this certification.
