IPC J-STD-001 Certification For Specialist | IPC J STD Certification
IPC J-STD-001 Certification is a 5-day program for experienced soldering technicians looking for knowledge of the IPC J-STD-001 Document and process controls and recommendations surrounding “best practices” in this document. The course reviews this document and helps students learn how to navigate the criteria. Both closed and open book tests are required after Module 1 with subsequent modules having a lecture and hand soldering skills component. Hand Soldering skills need to be demonstrated and competency shown to the instructor. Students must pass both the hand soldering as well as the specification Q/A in order to successfully complete this program. The IPC J STD CIS Certification program consists of both hand soldering as well as learning the material in the J-STD-001 specification related to various assembly methods.
This class is not designed as a beginning “how to” soldering class. It is taught at the 5th-grade reading and writing level in the English language. Foreign language instruction is available in some of the most common languages.
IPC J-STD-001 Certification program is divided into 5 one-day modules, each covering a different area of soldered electronics assemblies. Students sit for training in only certain modules or topics applicable to their business. As a minimum requirement for certification as an IPC CIS candidate, Module 1, which goes through the basics of hand soldering and PCB assembly must be passed.
This course takes in to account assembly processes related to manufacturing in wires and terminals, surface mount and throughhole technologies.Module 6 is an optional module on space criteria and is available for anyone needing certification to the IPC JSTD-001 Space Addendum.

What do you get?
Lots of knowledge on how to look up anything in the standard as well as how to apply the standard. Successful participants walk away with a 2-year industry credential. The IPC J-STD-001 certification for Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) Course provides individuals with a portable credential that recognizes their soldering skills and understanding of this internationally recognized standard. The IPC JSTD certification course uses lecture, practical application, and written examinations to teach the standard criteria. The course consists of 5 modules, each of which covers specific technology areas.
